Today I want to talk more about that, and about the importance of a support and accountability network for long term success and growth.
The Lone Ranger mindset is far too common among High-Performers. Many entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals start down those paths to success with a chip on their shoulder and a determination not to depend on others, but to grind their way to the top on their own.
Often this is a legitimate reaction to circumstances of betrayal, or support systems that failed to work for them. And don’t get me wrong, these people often prove themselves to be extremely capable, resilient, and rock-solid in their commitment and drive, which ends up looking quite successful.
The problem is, this strength can become your greatest weakness over time.
This grit, becomes your Achilles Heel.
While self-reliance, determination, and drive is a huge determiner in success, without the backing of a strong network of accountability, support, and inspiration, you are absolutely going to be limited in how far you will go.
I want to challenge you today to look around and check yourself:
⇢ Are you surrounded by people whose counsel you trust?
⇢ Are there people in your life who challenge you?
⇢ Do you have people you can lean on when life gets tough?
⇢ Is there someone you trust to hold you accountable for growth and performance on a regular basis?
If you answered a resounding “yes” to those questions, congratulations! You are well prepared to go the distance in both your professional and personal life. If not, please take some time today and consider this truth:
It is absolutely worth the time and emotional investment to connect with like-minded individuals who share the same ambitions and goals that you have. It is worth every ounce of your time and energy to invest in key relationships and develop a trust-based and truth-telling connections that will help you get to the next level.
With a team like that behind you, there’s no limit to what you can achieve!
